Located in the heart of West Seattle’s Admiral District, Alki Bike and Board has been a part of the West Seattle community for over 70 years. From the original roots of this local institution, the bike shop has gone under the names of Alki Bike and Boats, Alki Bikes, Alki Bicycle Co. and the current name Alki Bike and Board. The Hennessey family has been the owner/operators of the bike shop since 1987. Stu Hennessey the owner has worked for this business since 1984. Before that he was employed by the West Seattle Bike Shop and has helped spur the growth of bicycling in West Seattle for 30 years.
What makes Alki Bike and Board different from most shops is the friendly nature of our ownership and staff. We enjoy our work and our customers enjoy being at our shop. Information usable by any customer is our first priority in customer communication. We strive to give the consumer information that will help them make a smart purchase with any vendor. Our enthusiastic use for any of our products resonates throughout our staff. Many of our staff are or have been certified instructors in their field of expertise.
